From here on out, please bring with you to practice:

  • Both a black shirt AND white/colour shirt as we’ll be doing more scrimmage-type drills. (Hint: stuff in and leave a black+white tank top in your bag to use as a pinny)
  • Running/Sports shoes – something you can run, jump, move quickly in for Plyometrics (Off-skate) training at the beginning of practice

Please try your best to be at the arena 15 minutes before our start time so we can be ready to start on the hour.  Also, because the first 15-20 minutes will be dedicated to Plyometrics, DO NOT put your skates/gear on when you arrive.  We will have 5-10 mins to put our gear on once we’re done plyometric training, then we’ll skate for the remainder of practice.  Drop your bag off into the change room, change your clothes + put your running shoes on if you need to, and head to the rink.  Don’t forget your water bottle.

Visiting from another roller derby league? Let us know if you are fresh meat, intermediate or advanced and we’ll be happy to let you come skate with LOCO for extra practice time. We ask that all visitors from full contact leagues remember that LOCO is low-contact and we do not teach full contact hitting or checking, even though some of us know how. We can accept CWRDA or RSC insurance coverage, but do require a waiver, gear check, and will ask to confirm your skill level before you scrimmage.
