LOCO Roller Derby is Ontario’s recreational roller derby organization.
With chapters in London, Kitchener, Sarnia, Toronto, Stratford and Brantford, we are committed to promoting women’s flat track roller derby through fun, fitness, and friendship. Open to all women over the age of 18, we teach and practice skating on quad roller skates to play a recreational, low commitment and reduced-contact style of roller derby.
Our organization started in London, Ontario in 2010, since then we have branched out to other locations continually growing our derby comminuty and circile of friends. Each chapter holds their own annual meetings, and all officials are elected by the voting body of skaters. Additionally, we promote a strong community focus, volunteering at varoius local events.
At all LOCO practices, you will train just like a WFTDA roller girl, but play with modified blocking rules to reduce injury, making the sport more accessible to women of all athletic abilities. We do require all of our skaters to pass a minmum skills requirement ensuring all skaters are safe on and off the track. All year long there are open scrimmages as well as games to help enhance our skills. Our self-motivating levels program gives you the chance to challenge yourself, keeping WFTDA’s minimum skills requirements at our highest level of achievement.
You will never be pushed beyond your limits, but free to push yourself as hard as you want to!
You will never be told you are not good enough, but find out how good a skater you can be!
LOCO is perfect for retired WFTDA skaters, inexperienced roller skaters, and derby girls that just want to play for fun. Our skaters are available to scrimmage with any WFTDA or other fresh meat, rookie, or farm team for fun and experience, as long as a reduced-contact modified rule set is used (available upon request). We also train referees who are available to volunteer for both competitive and recreational leagues.
